"And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace." -Doctrine and Covenants 93:12
Little is known about the honorable Joseph, the just and faithful carpenter who was entrusted from on high to foster the Only Begotten Son of God. We do know that with a valiant heart, he did as he was bidden by the angel in a dream: he took Mary as his wife and nurtured her and her Son. There must have been opportunities at the end of the working day when tools were pushed aside and Jesus took time to learn His Father’s business. Perhaps He did so with Joseph at His side. Certainly, in the process of tutoring the growing Jesus, we can imagine that Joseph would have been learning as much as he was teaching.
